West Portal is a quaint, family-oriented neighborhood, easily accessible from multiple neighborhoods including the Sunset, Parkside, Saint Francis Wood, and Forest Hill. Offering a plethora of desirable dining and retail destinations, the main street appropriately named West Portal Avenue, runs directly into the neighborhood's Muni station with lines K, L, and M. There are also Muni 48 and 57 bus lines. The neighborhood is very walkable, easily accessible, and provides it's own public library in a beautiful 1939 building.
West Portal is also near, and a straight shot from, San Francisco State University and Stonestown Mall complete with Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Target, Apple, and many other popular stores. Due to it's location, West Portal is also an easy starting point to the Great Highway and Ocean Beach.
